Mary Schapiro cashes in, and you and I write the check that pays her
“Tyler Durden” over at Zero-Hedge summarizes this pretty well. I will let his words stand as written. The outgoing head of the SEC is getting hers.
The insidious nature of DC corruption lies not in the overt acts of the government officials, but the mind-set of persons inside of government and those who will be in the future.
The game remains “don’t rock the boat” or upset the deeply-monied interests of Wall St and the TBTF banks, and you too will be cared for. Money is nothing if not pragmatic, and the total cost of a few thousand Mary Schapiros is still well under the $83 billion (yes, billion) that the US taxpayers subsidized the TBTF banks just last year.
